Features
Calcium propionate is alkaline, which will inhibit yeast activity and delay dough fermentation. The use of calcium propionate in dough also has the effect of strengthening calcium, which is beneficial to the formation of gluten tissue. It has a wide range of antibacterial effects on molds, yeasts and bacteria. The lower the pH value, the higher the antiseptic effect.

Calcium propionate is a food additive commonly as a preservative in various food products. It includes bakery products, dairy product,meat, poultry, and beverages.
Calcium propionate is non-toxic to humans.It is also popular as preservative in cosmetics and toothpaste,whose maximum allowable concentration is 2% ( based on Propionic acid).
