4, 5-Dichloro-2-Octyl-Isothiazolone (DCOIT) is a broad-spectrum bactericide, which has wide uses in fields such as paints, coatings, plastics, leather, sewage treatment, papermaking, wood, adhesives, and inks. It is stable in marine paints. Through the slow-release technology, it can efficiently kill bacteria, fungi, algae, and other marine organisms in a broad spectrum. It is often as an excellent substitute for organotin antifouling agents in ship antifouling paints to provide long-lasting protection.
