Product Description
Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is a non - phthalate plasticizer. It's a clear, colorless, viscous liquid. Prepared by esterifying terephthalic acid with 2 - ethylhexanol, it has good plasticizing properties, low volatility, and high heat resistance, and is widely used in PVC products, cable materials, and automotive interiors.

Main Performance:
- DOTP is a primary plasticizer with excellent performance, featuring excellent electrical and thermal properties. Its volume resistivity is 10 to 20 times that of DOP. Especially in cable compounds, it exhibits a good plasticizing effect and low volatility. It is widely used in various products that require heat resistance and high insulation, and it is an ideal plasticizer for manufacturing cable compounds that can withstand a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius and other PVC products with requirements for low volatility.
- At the same time, it has good cold resistance, heat resistance, extraction resistance, and low volatility, with a high plasticizing efficiency. It shows excellent durability, resistance to soapy water, and low-temperature flexibility in products. It is suitable as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, such as PVC cable compounds with high insulation requirements.
- This product can be blended with DOP in any proportion.
When this product is used in plasticized pastes, it can reduce the viscosity and extend the shelf life
Use
- Plastic industry: It is widely used as a plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products. In PVC films, sheets, and profiles, DOTP improves the flexibility, processability, and durability of the materials, making them suitable for applications such as packaging materials, floor coverings, and electrical insulation tapes.
- Cable and wire insulation: DOTP is added to PVC compounds for cable insulation to enhance the electrical properties and thermal stability. It helps maintain the integrity of the insulation under various operating conditions, reducing the risk of electrical breakdown and ensuring the safe operation of cables.
- Automotive industry: In automotive applications, DOTP is used in interior components like dashboards, door trims, and upholstery. It provides good flexibility and resistance to heat, oils, and chemicals, enhancing the comfort and longevity of these parts.
- Coatings and adhesives: As a plasticizer in coatings and adhesives, DOTP can improve the adhesion, flexibility, and gloss of the products. It is used in industrial coatings, wood coatings, and adhesive formulations to meet specific performance requirements.
- Rubber industry: In some rubber products, DOTP can be used as a processing aid or plasticizer to improve the processing performance and physical properties of the rubber, such as reducing the viscosity during mixing and increasing the elasticity and toughness of the final product.
- Inks: In ink formulations, DOTP can act as a plasticizer to improve the flowability, drying properties, and adhesion of the ink on various substrates, ensuring high-quality printing results.
