Characteristics
Excellent Absorption Performance
The absorption peaks of the wavelength are at 370 nm and 405 nm, and the maximum absorption wavelength can reach 450 nm, which can absorb long-wave ultraviolet light and part of visible light.
High Initiation Activity
The photolysis products contain two trimethylbenzoyl radicals and one phenylphosphinyl radical, all of which are highly active initiating radicals, and the initiation efficiency is higher than that of the common photoinitiator TPO.
Use
Coating
Phenylbis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine oxide has wide uses in colored UV-curable plastic coatings, UV coatings, etc., such as the plastic shell coatings of various electronic and household appliances. In white paints and colored paints with high hiding power, adding a small amount of photoinitiator 819 can make the coating have excellent curing effects and anti-UV yellowing properties. It is also particularly suitable for the curing of thick film systems, as well as white systems and glass fiber-reinforced polyester/styrene systems. It can also be used in outdoor varnishes in combination with light stabilizers.
Ink
It has uses in printing inks for the surfaces of wood, metal, plastic, paper, and optical fibers. In inks containing titanium dioxide or other pigments, it can make the ink cure quickly, and the cured ink has good wear resistance and chemical resistance.
3D Printing
As one of the key components in 3D printing resins, it can combine with photo-crosslinkable monomers, which can increase the printing speed, use low-energy visible light sources, and also bring additional functions to 3D printed products.
